Prunus domestica 'Avalon' is a fairly large, ovoid plum, red and dark purple in colour. The flesh is golden yellow to orange and juicy with good fresh sweet taste and a good aroma. It must be picked in the second half of August or the first half of September. It is a dessert and cooking plum.
