The green Hornbeam or Carpinus Betulus. The plant is mainly used as a solitary plant, but is also extremely suitable for use as a hedge. The hornbeam provides a beautiful green separation from your yard or garden. The hornbeam has a more pointed leaf than the Beech hedge (Fagus sylvatica) and in the autumn the hornbeam loses its leaf.

Hornbeams are better able to withstand changing water levels, so it is a better choice than Fagus Silvatica, especially on clay soils. Hornbeams are bare in the autumn, but are more likely to sprout than beech hedges. The plant tolerates a good pruning with ease and will soon sprout again.
