Walnut 'Buccaneer'

Juglans regia 'Buccaneer'

Walnut 'Buccaneer'
Enhanced walnut, large fruit and self-pollinating.
Buccaneer Originates from the Limburg town of Neer. Grows a little stronger than Broadview and forms an upright crown. Fewer nuts than with Broadview.
The nuts are fairly large and round in shape. Good taste. Runs quite late, which reduces the risk of night frost damage. Because the male bloom usually falls entirely within the female bloom, the overlap of both flower types is sufficient for self-pollination.
However, planting a pollinator variety can offer more certainty. Buccaneer itself is also suitable for pollination of many other varieties.
