Cherry 'Schwäbische Weinweichsel'

Prunus cerasus 'Schwäbische Weinweichsel'

Cherry 'Schwäbische Weinweichsel'
Prunus c. 'Schwäbische Weinweichsel' (Swabian Weinweichsel)

The cherry has an intense, aromatic, sour, juicy taste.  The soft flesh of the cherry leaves the stone well detached.
A good pollinator for other types of cherries. Flowers can withstand night frost.
This variety is only slowly starting to give cherries, but it carries a lot and regularly.

Special attention should be paid to the juice of these sour cherries. This is particularly intense red coloured, has a high fructose content and many antioxidants. It can be used for the production of juices as well as for wine. As Brennkirsche, various liqueurs and schnapps of the variety can be burnt. Above all, the cherry can be eaten fresh from the tree or processed into jam.
