The Wild Apple, Malus sylvestris, is often used in public gardens and is ideally suited to food forests and bird bushes. Birds and other animals love the fruits of the Wild Apple.
It flowers in March/April and produces small sour-tasting fruits. The apples can be used to make jelly to accompany meat dishes.
